She also served as a certified student attorney in the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center’s legal department, providing legal aid to domestic violence survivors. 

Ms. Brenner has numerous memberships in prominent legal associations, including the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Ramsey County Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Family Law League and Minnesota Women Lawyers. 

Actively involved in her community and a firm believer in giving back to society, Ms. Brenner serves as a family law adjunct professor at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and as the director on law of the University of St. Thomas School of Law’s alumni board. She is a member of the Cooperative Law Group, Collaborative Law Alliance and the Minnesota Justice Foundation. 

Additionally, Ms. Brenner serves as a volunteer attorney with the Hennepin County Limited Scope Legal Services Program, the Chrysalis-Tubman Safety Project and the Ramsey County Veteran’s Limited Scope Legal Services Program. She has written extensively and has lectured at numerous continuing legal education seminars on spousal maintenance, attorney ethics, closely held businesses and so on.
