David W. Jacobsen

Focusing his practice on estate and trusts, business law, real estate, civil litigation and criminal law, David W. Jacobsen is the managing attorney at Jacobsen Law Firm, P.A., in Northfield, Minnesota. Mr. Jacobsen is a client-focused attorney that values the relationships he has with his clients.  

Mr. Jacobsen has extensive legal experience which over the last 15 years includes preparing hundreds of estate plans, closing hundreds of real estate transactions, forming business entities, purchase and sale of businesses (M&A), guiding fiduciaries through probates and trust administrations, defending clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors, and litigation experience in motion practices and trying cases before both judges and juries. 

With an “Excellent” rating on Avvo and a 5-star review rating on Google, Mr. Jacobsen has a reputation for communicating well with his clients by explaining complex jargon, actively listening to his clients and finding solutions that fit their needs.

Mr. Jacobsen graduated from the University of Minnesota and Mitchell Hamline School of Law, formerly known as the William Mitchell College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Jacobsen work for a private firm and as a certified student attorney at the Minneapolis City Attorney's Office.

Mr. Jacobsen is an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the First District Bar Association and the Rice County Bar Association.  Mr. Jacobsen is also actively involved in the Northfield community serving on boards of a number of non-profit organizations.
