Attorney Profile

Adina R. Bergstrom is one of the founding partners at Sauro & Bergstrom, PLLC, in Oakdale, Minnesota and practices throughout the State of Minnesota in both state and federal court. Ms. Bergstrom represents business owners, townhome and condo associations, and homeowners in various insurance disputes involving fire, collapse, water damage, vandalism, embezzlement, theft, and other complex claims. She routinely handles insurance claims denials and disputes, coverage issues, insurance appraisals, appeals, fraud and arson cases, and serves as a bad faith expert on cases nationwide. 

Ms. Bergstrom also handles construction-related disputes for construction companies, serving as corporate counsel to a number of general contractors and construction management companies.  Her construction practice includes contract formation issues and disputes, non-payment issues including bond claims and mechanic's liens, construction defect disputes, and insurance related issues involving construction specific coverages including builders risk, installation floater, commercial general liability, and indemnity/additional insured agreements. 

Ms. Bergstrom has worked in the insurance industry for decades, having previously worked for a number of large insurance companies prior to entering private practice, and has more than 15 years of experience litigating matters through trial and appeal.  She is admitted before all Minnesota state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.

Active in the legal community, Ms. Bergstrom is a member of various professional legal organizations including the Minnesota State Bar Association and the American Bar Association where she has served for a number of years as a Vice-Chair for the Property Insurance law Committee.  She is also a licensed public adjuster and an associate member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA). She routinely lectures at NAPIA and ABA educational conferences throughout the country.

Ms. Bergstrom volunteers as a pro bono attorney for the Children's Law Center of Minnesota, representing children in CHIPS (child in need of protection) proceedings.

Ms. Bergstrom earned her undergraduate degree from Augsburg University in Minneapolis and her law degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She has been a licensed attorney in Minnesota since 2004.
