Attorney Profile

John P. Worrell is an attorney at Hoene & Worrell. From the firm’s offices in South St. Paul, Minnesota, he provides representation to his individual and business clients throughout the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area. Admitted to practice before all Minnesota state courts since 1995, Mr. Worrell is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

A significant portion of Mr. Worrell’s practice involves estate and trust litigation. He frequently appears before probate courts in cases dealing with will contests, breaches by executors and trustees of their fiduciary duties, challenges by heirs and beneficiaries, and proceedings involving guardianships and conservatorships.

Mr. Worrell also represents limited liability companies and their members in a wide variety of matters. Once he and his entrepreneur clients have determined that an LLC is the most appropriate form of legal entity for their new venture, he proceeds to get it formed under state law, and he then prepares and reviews employment and operating agreements and other applicable business contracts. Mr. Worrell also works with them on mergers and acquisitions, and he provides advice and counsel on regulatory compliance and represents them in court or at the negotiating table in the event disputes arise with other parties.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Worrell attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and in 1982, he received a Bachelor of Arts. After several years, he decided to pursue a legal education, and to that end, he enrolled at what was then known as William Mitchell College of Law and was subsequently awarded his Juris Doctor in 1995 Magna cum laude. Mr. Worrell is a former co-chair of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Ramsey County Bar Association, and currently a member of Minnesota State Bar Association Litigation and Dispute Resolution Committee - Probate Section.
