Gloria L. Contreras Edin

Gloria Contreras Edin is principal at Contreras Edin Law, PA. She has advised on thousands of matters involving clients from more than 25 countries in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, & Asia on a wide range of complicated and sensitive immigration issues. She also has a great deal of experience in dealing with state courts, federal courts, and federal immigration agencies.

Ms. Contreras Edin represents thousands of clients in multiple contexts including, but not limited to, bond hearings, removal hearings, affirmative applications for immigration benefits, family petitions, hardship petitions, post-conviction relief, waivers of inadmissibility, obtaining legal status and green cards, consular processing, obtaining immigrant and/or nonimmigrant visas, becoming a U.S. citizen, and VAWA petitions. Additionally, she has served on numerous boards, government state-wide commissions, committees, and has acted as Amicus Curiae in high-stakes immigration proceedings in various U.S. Courts of Appeals. She has received numerous honors and awards for her outstanding service and works tirelessly to protect the rights of children and adults facing removal from the United States.

Ms. Contreras Edin has acted as an expert on immigration matters litigated in civil courts. She writes and presents frequently on immigration matters. In 2015 and then again in 2018, she co-authored a chapter in the Immigration Practice Desk book. She has presented on a variety of issues, including how the Constitution interacts with immigration laws as well as the impact of immigration laws on women and children. She also produces Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs and presents on issues related to non-conforming LGBTQI immigrants and refugees.

Ms. Contreras Edin currently serves as an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law where she teaches Immigration Law.
