Louise E. Livesay-Al is a collaborative family law attorney in St. Paul, Minnesota. The founder of The LawShop Minnesota, she represents clients in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, as well as throughout Minnesota.

Ms. Livesay-Al has over 20 years of experience with collaborative law, an approach to divorce and other family law disputes that emphasizes mediation and other methods that reduce the adversarial nature of legal disputes. Over the course of her career, she has handled cases involving divorce, alimony, child support, marital property, name change, paternity, prenuptial agreements, same-sex family law and other issues. 

Recognized for her experience, Ms. Livesay-Al regularly conducts collaborative law training for other attorneys. In 2013, she was the recipient of the Stu Webb Award, for her work in collaborative law. She has held many leadership roles in the Collaborative Law Institute of Minnesota, including president and co-president and lead trainer. She has also served as a member of the organization’s board of trustees.

Additionally, Ms. Livesay-Al belongs to the Ramsey County Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Family Law Section and the International Academy of Collaborative Law Professionals. Dedicated to serving her local community, she volunteers her time on a pro bono basis with the Collaborative Law Institute’s Sliding Scale Fee Program and Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services. 

After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota, Ms. Livesay-Al graduated from Hamline University Law School, now known as Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She holds a license to practice law before all Minnesota state courts.
