Matt Yost

Matt Yost serves as an associate attorney at the firm of Messick Law, PLLC, located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Authorized to practice in the state of Minnesota since 2018, he represents clients with matters involving family law, including divorce, legal separation, post-decree modifications, custody, paternity and orders of protection.

Mr. Yost is a dedicated and empathetic attorney who fiercely advocates for the rights of his clients. He prefers a creative, team-based approach and tailors his practice to each client's unique needs and objectives, aiming for certainty and the development of equity. He upholds his clients’ best interests and has an unwavering commitment to their needs.

An English major, Mr. Yost obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Minnesota. He pursued law and received his Juris Doctor from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2018. In law school, he clerked for the Honorable Judge Richelle M. Wahi at the Minnesota Judicial Branch’s First Judicial District.

Mr. Yost is fervently associated with prestigious legal organizations, including the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association, the Ramsey County Bar Association and the Family Law League. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

A firm believer in giving back to his community, Mr. Yost serves as a volunteer attorney at the Children's Law Center of Minnesota and has also volunteered much of his time as the Youth United chair of the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.
