Details
An attorney at St. Paul, Minnesota-based Jeff Anderson & Associates, Pat Stoneking devotes his practice exclusively to the representation of victims of childhood sexual abuse. Admitted to practice before all Minnesota state courts since 2005, he is also admitted to practice in Wisconsin, New York, and North Dakota, and his client base comes from those states as well as from other parts of the country.
Many of Mr. Stoneking's clients were harmed by priests and other clergy members, and the defendants that he has gone up against have included churches of several denominations. Other of his clients were abused by Boy Scouts of America leaders, including scoutmasters and other volunteers. That organization has known about the problem for nearly 100 years and has maintained a database of ineligible volunteers, a portion of which was made public in the fall of 2012 as a result of rulings by courts across the country. Mr. Stoneking has also represented people who were sexually abused by coaches and teachers at private and public schools. He has been able to obtain much-needed justice for his clients, regardless of who was the perpetrator, and his fellow members of the bar have taken note of the quality of his work in this regard and have awarded him a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo, among other honors.
As an undergraduate, Mr. Stoneking attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in mathematics and economics and received a Bachelor of Science in 2002. He then pursued his legal education at the University of Minnesota Law School, and he participated in moot court competitions before being awarded his Juris Doctor cum laude in 2005. His professional memberships include the Hennepin County Bar Association.
