Shannon M. Bixby-Pankratz

Shannon M. Bixby practices exclusively in the area of family law, assisting clients to navigate through difficult and emotional legal challenges, including dissolution, paternity, child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, nonmarital tracing, and property division. She also assists clients in third party custody issues, step or second parent adoption issues, cohabitation agreements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, Hague convention issues and appeals.  Ms. Bixby promotes cooperative settlements when possible, regularly working with clients in mediation, early neutral evaluations, and other alternative dispute resolution processes. When a resolution between the parties cannot be reached, Ms. Bixby zealously advocates for clients when litigation becomes necessary. Prior to joining Moss & Barnett in 2006, Ms. Bixby served a clerkship in Hennepin County District Court assigned to Family Court. She has almost ten additional years of experience working in the court system completing neutral assessments and investigative reports and providing recommendations to judicial officers in Hennepin County in the criminal court system.  With Ms. Bixby's combined educational and professional experience, she has nearly 20 years of experience working with issues of mental health, chemical dependency, and domestic violence issues.
