Graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Mr. Poul obtained his Juris Doctor from the William Mitchell College of Law and was licensed to practice in Minnesota in 1994. He began his career in Washington, D.C., working with Congressmen Bill Frenzer and later with Minnesota State Auditor Judy Dutcher. He also served at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
Mr. Poul has professional associations with the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Ramsey County Bar Association. He is also a board member at the Minnesota Governmental Relations Council.
Mr. Poul has been honored with awards and recognition throughout his career, including the Lobbyist of the Year award for politics in Minnesota by the St. Paul Legal Ledger Capital Report and the John Collier Award by CampFire Minnesota. He has published a paper on Ambulatory Surgery Centers and lectures at many continuing legal education seminars.
Active in his community, Mr. Poul is a part of CampFire Minnesota, the Eden Prairie Planning Commission, Kids Voting Minnesota and the University of Minnesota-Duluth Alumni Association.
