Details
With more than a decade of legal experience, attorney Anthony Toepfer has been delivering exemplary services to clients in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He established his law firm Toepfer at Law, PLLC, with a vision to provide families with legal guidance during the vulnerable periods of their lives.
Initially, Mr. Toepfer concentrated his practice on business law and technology and later realized that he wanted to help families and work closely with them. He is, perhaps, most well-known for his work in divorce, legal separation, spousal maintenance/alimony, child custody and visitation, parenting time, and the division of marital property and debts. He also has experience handling general civil litigation cases and estate planning and probate.
Admitted to practice in all the state courts of Minnesota since 2013, Mr. Toepfer has also handled a number of cases before the federal courts of Minnesota. As a trained mediator, he tries to resolve legal disputes in a less emotional and stress-free way possible, but he realizes that it is not always possible and won’t hesitate to litigate cases in court, when necessary.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2005, Mr. Toepfer enrolled at Texas A&M University to pursue his master’s degree in business administration. Later in 2011, he obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. While there, he functioned as the senior editor of the University of St. Thomas Law Journal.
Active in his community, Mr. Toepfer maintains memberships in several legal organizations such as the Minnesota State Bar Association – Family Law Section and the Stearns Benton Bar Association (SBBA).
When not running his firm, Mr. Toepfer comes forward to provide pro bono legal services to low-income citizens and underprivileged groups. He served as a volunteer at the Cancer Legal Line, a nonprofit that helps Minnesota residents affected by any type of cancer. He was also a board member of Anna Marie's Alliance, a women's domestic violence shelter.

These comments were made by fellow attorneys during the annual nomination process.
“Tony and I were in the same 40-hour mediation training course several years ago presented by Karen Irvin. We clicked and since then have stayed in touch. He practices in and around St. Cloud and is very knowledgeable about the nuances of Stearns/Sherburne/Benton counties. I have taken on more cases in that area, and have often connected with Tony for his input and insight as to valuation date, selection of mediator, Judicial Officer assignment and the like. I also connected Tony to the Family Law League. One silver lining of Covid is that it has eliminated geography as a barrier to legal and ADR services. Again, it's not always what you know, it's who you know and how to find the best channels for information. I have also referred cases to Tony for family law representation, mediation or PC work. ”
“Tony provides professional representation for his clients while they are going through the difficult legal issues involved in marital dissolution, parental custody challenges and similar, related issues.”
