Sarah R. Jewell

Sarah R. Jewell is an attorney and owner of River Valley Law, P.A., law firm in Waite Park, Minnesota. Widely regarded as an emerging leader in her field, Ms. Jewell represents a diverse range of clients throughout the state's central region who have legal needs involving any of the following practice areas:

A 1994 graduate of Pepperdine University, Ms. Jewell attended what is now Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2011. The Minnesota State Bar Association admitted her to practice that same year, and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Ms. Jewell is admitted in both state district court and appellate courts, as well as U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and appears in Office of Administrative Hearings as well. 

As an attorney, Ms. Jewell has earned a reputation for providing a practical approach and personalized counsel along with a team of dedicated associate attorneys and professional support staff to assist clients in obtaining the outcomes they deserve.

Prior to becoming an attorney, she led a successful career in sales and marketing, so she has a unique insight she brings to the table to assist and guide her clients with their needs. Ms. Jewell achieved notable success advocating on behalf of aggrieved employees as well as others with serious and complex business and commercial legal disputes as well as high profile cases seen in the Minneapolis St. Paul Star Tribune, KMSP TV Channel 9 News and TV News in Fargo, ND CBS Affiliate channel, and various local newspapers. Ms. Jewell has argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals on several occasions, assisted on a brief to the Minnesota Supreme Court in the case of Alekson, et al vs. Xcel Energy, and has brought many cases to trial before judges and juries on various civil matters. 

Active in her legal community, Ms. Jewell is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Stearns-Benton Bar Association and Minnesota Women Lawyers. She is also the immediate past Chairperson of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Rural and Agricultural Law Section Council and serves as a current Section Council member. 

Ms. Jewell also supports her local community through her involvement and support of various civic and charitable organizations, including as a Gold Sponsor of the Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid office in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is a current Board Member with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, a past president of the Exchange Club of St. Cloud and a past board member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines Girl Scouts. She enjoys running and has participated in 8 full marathons, and many half marathons.
