Julianne M. Markiewicz

Julianne M. Markiewicz founded the Markiewicz Law Office, P.A., in 1995. She is a family law attorney representing clients in and around the Twin Cities metro area from her law firm’s location in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Her primary practice areas are divorce, family law and business litigation. She also handles cases involving adoption, custody, same-sex marriage, spousal maintenance, entertainment law, estate planning, civil litigation and personal injury. 

Graduating cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in 1984, Ms. Markiewicz went on to study law at the Hamline University School of Law. In law school, she was a dean’s list honor student, and she also received the American Jurisprudence Award in wills, trusts and estates. She earned her law degree in 1990 and was admitted to practice in Minnesota in 1991. Her other bar admissions include the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux (Dakota) Tribal Court.

With more than 30 years of experience, Ms. Markiewicz understands the emotional and financial burdens that come with divorce and other family law matters. She offers pro bono trust and estate planning services to the elderly residents in her neighborhood. She also volunteers as the president of the board at The Shoppes at Banning and Fifth. Moreover, Ms. Markiewicz has authored the litigation chapter in the “Stress-Free Divorce: Leading Divorce Professionals Speak” book by the Remarkable Press. The proceeds from the book are donated to a nonprofit organization known as Junior Achievement.

Ms. Markiewicz maintains her professional associations by being an active member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Minnesota Women Lawyers.
