Before founding his private practice, Mr. Messick was a shareholder in a prominent southern Minnesota firm. Mr. Messick also clerked for the Honorable Thomas M. Neuville (retired). Prior to his legal career, he served as an assistant to a U.S. Congressman and held advisory positions for elected officials and political candidates at both the state and federal level.

He holds a license to practice law before all Minnesota state courts, all North Dakota state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.
