David K. Meier

Helping clients see the big picture in the middle of the ugliness is one of David K. Meier’s special skills as a Civil Litigator and Associate Attorney at Sjoberg & Tebelius.  

David hit the ground running right out of law school, where he started a small firm  litigation practice and ran it for over 20 years. Within the second year of opening his practice, extenuating circumstances forced him to take on his partner’s family law cases.

As someone who vowed never to practice family law, he quickly shifted after seeing the real-life impact of his work. His success propelled him into family law and divorce matters, where over the years, he’s consulted with every type of client imaginable. David is a fierce advocate for his clients, providing steady counsel and quality representation throughout the litigation process. 

He’s earned a reputation among clients, opposing counsel, and the court for his honest and respectful approach. With his clients, he tells the truth and guides them to a successful and efficient conclusion - even when it’s not what they want to hear at the time. His no-nonsense communication style, combined with his genuine desire to help others during their lowest points in life, reflect his values and commitment to ethics and professionalism. 

David has many interests outside the firm; the most important are his family and volunteer commitments, where he gives back to the community.  He also works part-time as a seat vendor for the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
