JULIE BOWMAN MITCHELL is a shareholder with the law firm of Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush.  Mrs. Mitchell, with a masters in health law, is a recognized authority on healthcare issues.  Mrs. Mitchell advises clients on legal, regulation and business issues, including but not limited to: Stark, fraud and abuse, Medicare and Medicaid payment issues, corporate compliance, CON laws, provider and physician contracting, healthcare corporate matters, hospital law, nursing home law, DMEPOS matters, licensure and certification, HIPAA, and healthcare integration.  In addition to her representation of clients in the healthcare arena, Mrs. Mitchell has lectured on numerous occasions regarding emerging issues in long term care and the law.  She has spoken nationally to the American Health Lawyers Association and to the American Health Care Association.  She has also given presentations recently for the Mississippi Hospital Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association--Arkansas Chapter, Mississippi Health Care Association, and Delta Rural Health Network.  Mrs. Mitchell is also an associate member of the Mississippi Independent Nursing Home Association and Mississippi Health Care Association, and an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, and has served on the Governor’s task force for HIPAA implementation in Mississippi.
