R. Jonathan Franco is a currently a partner at Haug, Farrar & Franco in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.  His practice focuses on personal injury and workers' compensation litigation.  Jonathan's personal injury practice is focused on car accident cases, trucking collisions, premises liability, medical malpractice, and maritime injuries.  Jonathan graduated from the University of Alabama in 2007 with a degree in Political Science and Graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in 2013.  He is on the Board of Governors for the Mississippi Association for Justice and has also served as Treasurer of the New Lawyers Division of MAJ.   He is a member of the Southern Trial Lawyers Organization and is  a member of the American Association for Justice.  He is a past president of the Ocean Springs Rotary Club. Jonathan served as the editor of the annual publication of Voir Dire magazine, a litigation journal published by the Mississippi Association for Justice.  Jonathan has published multiple articles in Voir Dire  including my  "Medical Malpractice in Conscience Sedation" in the Summer 2017 issue and "Preparing Your Life Care Planner for Cross Examination" in the 2016 issue.  Jonathan has tried multiple cases to verdict in state and federal court.  Jonathan has also won appeals before the Mississippi Court of Appeals.  See Pettersen v.   • $300,000 medical malpractice settlement in a case where the Plaintiff's treating physician failed to inform the plaintiff after a biopsy that the biopsy showed he had prostate cancer.  The cancer  later developed into stage 4 cancer.  This was a tort claim act case with a $500,000 cap., 2020
  • $175,000 settlement in a commercial vehicle case where two tractor trailers collided.  My client suffered a soft tissue neck injury and his cervical MRI was negative but I was still able to help him receive signficant compensation., 2019
  • $230,000 medical malpratice settlement reached at mediation for a client who suffered a foot drop after an neurosurgeon allegedly inserted a pedicle screw into the client's nerve root during a spinal fusion surgery., 2020
