Attorney Profile

As founding member of The Center for Family Law in St. Louis, Missouri, attorney Cynthia Leigh Albin provides unmatched counsel and support to clients throughout the greater St. Louis Metro and surrounding areas who are going through a divorce or have other serious legal matters affecting their families.

Nationally recognized as among the preeminent lawyers in the country, Ms. Albin holds her certification as a family law mediator, and she is highly trained in collaborative law. As such, she prefers to help her clients resolve their conflicts and reach favorable agreements regarding their child custody and support, property division and other related matters in a manner that is far more economical and less adversarial than traditional divorce litigation.

However, she will not hesitate to take her clients' issues to court when necessary to help them work toward the positive results they seek. She also serves as guardian ad litem and parenting coordinator in contentious custody disputes in St. Louis and St. Charles counties, and she has achieved significant success guiding her client with making the best-informed decisions while protecting their rights and interests throughout complex divorce proceedings.

In honor of her outstanding professionalism and service, Ms. Albin has earned an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell along with many other top rankings and endorsements from her peers. She has also received numerous testimonials and referrals from her satisfied clients.

A 1992 graduate of Emory University, Ms. Albin obtained her Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in 1995. She is an active member of The Missouri Bar's Family Law Section as well as the Family and Juvenile Law Section and Young Lawyers Division of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, where she served on the board of governors from 2003 to 2008. She is also a member of the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.

Ms. Albin also serves as special prosecutor for orders of protection and contempt cases in the St. Louis County Circuit Court, and she serves on the board of the National Council of Jewish Women. She also volunteers her time and services with Legal Advocates for Abused Women and for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, and she routinely conducts lectures and continuing legal education seminars across her region on a variety of family law topics.
