James T. Cook

James T. Cook has been a dedicated legal practitioner since 1975, co-founding a reputable law firm, Berkowitz Cook Gondring Driskell & Drobeck, LLC, in 1989. He is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas, focusing on complex family law cases that involve high-conflict situations, substantial assets and business valuation matters.

Mr. Cook is a respected member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has played significant roles within the organization, including serving as president of the Missouri chapter and as a member of the national Board of Governors. His leadership as past chairman of the Family Law Section of The Missouri Bar was pivotal in advancing the development of joint custody laws in Missouri. His education includes a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, obtained in 1974, following a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri in 1968.

Throughout his career, Mr. Cook has contributed to the legal community through published works, such as "Treatment Alternatives Missouri Bar CLE" in 1987. His professional achievements have earned him recognition as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers from 1994 to 2017 and inclusion in the Best Lawyers of America.
