Jonathan Sternberg is an appellate lawyer in Kansas City, Missouri.  He focuses his practice on civil and criminal appellate litigation at every point in a case, not only briefing and arguing appeals, writs, post-judgment and post-conviction proceedings, and similar matters, but also advising trial attorneys on procedure and strategy at all stages.

Since opening his practice right after his admission to the bar in 2007, Jonathan has had more than 100 reported appellate decisions to his name, representing businesses and individuals in state and federal appeals throughout America in a wide array of subjects, successfully pursuing commercial, constitutional, criminal, estate, family, insurance, tax, and tort cases, among other subjects.  The total amount in controversy of all of his cases involving money disputes exceeds $600 million.  His clients have included everything from Fortune 500® companies to indigent people.  He has written more than 225 appellate briefs and presented more than 100 appellate oral arguments, including 13 before the Supreme Court of Missouri.  Jonathan is admitted to practice before Missouri and Kansas state courts, all federal district courts in Missouri and Kansas, every U.S. Court of Appeals circuit nationwide, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition to his selections to Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers and its "Rising Stars" (collectively since 2010), Jonathan was the only solo practitioner (and youngest person) who Missouri Lawyers Weekly selected as an "Up & Coming Lawyer" in 2009 and was peer-selected to the Kansas City Business Journal's "Best of the Bar" list in 2013-2016. Jonathan was born in 1981 in New Haven, Connecticut, and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and a 2003 graduate of the University of Kansas. He and his wife, Meredith, reside in the Plaza area of Kansas City.
