Thomas C. Jones

Thomas C. Jones is a partner at the law firm of Davis, Bethune & Jones in Kansas City, Missouri. He serves clients across the states of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, Ohio, West Virginia and Kansas. Mr. Jones focuses his practice on:

A University of Missouri graduate, Mr. Jones received his B.A. in political science in 1985 and his Juris Doctor in 1988. The following year, he passed the bar and was allowed to practice in Kansas and the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. He later obtained licenses to practice in the states of Missouri, Arkansas, Colorado and Illinois. 

Mr. Jones is on the board of Governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and is an associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He also maintains memberships with the American Association for Justice and its Railroad Litigation Group; the American Bar Association; and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.

Over the course of his legal career spanning more than three decades, Mr. Jones has won several verdicts, including $160 million in a railroad crossing case and $21 million in a helicopter crash case. Some of the highest settlements he won for his clients include $12.5 million and $37.5 million, both in railroad cases. 

Recognized by the legal community for his tireless efforts and his vast knowledge of the law, Mr. Jones has been named Best of the Bar by the Kansas City Business Journal. Furthermore, The Best Lawyers in America has crowned him the Lawyer of the Year in 2020 under the mass tort litigation category and in 2022 under the medical malpractice law category.
