With his 44 years of litigation experience in southwest Missouri, he is respected by judges, prosecutors and his fellow defense attorneys alike as an aggressive and diligent lawyer.

In addition to his busy legal practice, Mr. Carver has served as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives. He has also worked in the Juvenile Division of the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County as both a juvenile officer and director of legal services. Mr. Carver is a past president and board member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is additionally a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also serves as a board member for the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association.

After graduating with a B.S. in political science from the University of Arkansas in 1970, Mr. Carver earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in 1973. He gained admitted to practice in Missouri in 1973, and he also practices before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 8th and 10th Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Carver has won the Robert Duncan Award for Appellate Excellence, an award given by the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America* and has represented indigent defendants on a pro bono basis since 1986.
