Focusing his practice on complex civil litigation, John Kilper is a partner at Saint Charles, Missouri-based Hamilton Weber LLC. He represents individual and business clients throughout the greater St. Louis metropolitan area, including Madison and St. Clair counties in Illinois. Admitted to practice before all Missouri and Illinois state courts, Mr. Kilper is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri.
Mr. Kilper has worked with both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of matters. His defense experience includes premises liability and other types of personal injury and wrongful death litigation, class actions and civil rights lawsuits. In the latter, he has represented law enforcement officers as well as other government employees and officials in cases involving excessive force and other deprivations of rights under the Civil Rights Act of 1871. Mr. Kilper's trial experience has also included construction and real estate disputes, and he has been trial counsel for a subsidiary of a leading global bank in federal and state lender liability lawsuits. He has received a great deal of recognition from his colleagues for his successful track record, including being a St. Louis Business Journal 30 Under 30 honoree in 2012.
As an undergraduate, Mr. Kilper attended Tulane University in New Orleans, where he majored in political science and history and received a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 2005. He then pursued a legal education at the University of Missouri School of Law, and he was the notes and comments editor of the Missouri Law Review before being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2008. His professional memberships include the The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Federal Bar Association, and the St. Charles Bar Association. Â
