Cary J. Mogerman represents individuals in a wide range of divorce, marital and family law matters, with emphasis on complex or high asset divorce cases which may involve interests in businesses, professional practices, or complex executive compensation issues, as well as cases involving existing estate plans and trusts, spousal support and child custody disputes. 

Recognized by his peers as a leader in family law practice, Cary is a Fellow and Past President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, having served the national organization as President in 2022.  He has been a member of the Academy's Executive Committee and Board of Examiners for eleven years, and chaired or been an active participant on many Academy committees.  Cary is also one of only 100 Diplomates of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, an organization of top family trial lawyers limited to an invitation-only membership of 100 members from around the United States, all of whom must also be Fellows of the AAML.  He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, and a member of the Missouri Bar Family Law Section and the American Bar Association Family Law Section. He is a past President of the Missouri Chapter, AAML and past Chair of the Family and Juvenile Law Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.  Since 2019 he has been one of thirty Missouri family law attorneys recognized on the Missouri Lawyers' Weekly "Power 30 List" for Family Law.  He presently serves as a member of the six-member of the Missouri Commission on Retirement, Removal and Discipline of the Missouri judicial system, which he chaired in 2021.

Cary is a frequent lecturer on family law topics for professional organizations including the Missouri Bar and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, among others.   He authored two chapters of the legal Missouri Bar deskbook “Missouri Family Law” as well as numerous articles on a wide range of topics for legal journals and publications which include the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the ABA's Family Advocate magazine.  His most recent published writing project is a book entitled A Guide to Divorce in Missouri:  Simple Answers to Complex Questions, (Addicus Books 2017), presently available at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Mr. Mogerman has been listed by Naifeh and Smith as one of the Best Lawyers in America* for family law annually since 1996, and designated its "Lawyer of the Year" for Family Law in St. Louis in 2009 and 2019.   He is also listed among the “Top 50 ” (St. Louis) and “Top 100” (Missouri/Kansas) Super Lawyers lists, since 2006. He has also received the highest rating of AV Preeminent** from Martindale-Hubbell. In 2008, Mr. Mogerman was selected by the the Missouri Bar Family Law Section to receive its annual Roger P. Krumm Family Law Practitioner Award  in recognition of his work for the advancement of family law and in 2019 was named the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers "Fellow of the Year." 

Cary enjoys teaching and mentoring other lawyers in the field of family law, and since 2006 has been a faculty member of the Academy's annual Institute for Family Law Associates, held annually in Chicago, Illinois, and since 2012 for the ABA's Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute, presented annually in conjunction with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy in Boulder, Colorado.

He is married and the father of three adult sons.
