Practicing from Goldstein and Price, L.C., in St. Louis, Missouri, Giles B. Howard holds over a decade of experience in trials and litigation. Counseling clients nationwide, he advocates for them in areas of maritime law, insurance coverage, toxic torts, personal injury and legal malpractice. As an aggressive litigator, he prioritizes communication with clients and strategizes his approach to fit their needs.
Upon graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s in history, Mr. Howard pursued his legal studies at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. While at law school, he was actively involved in moot court competitions and won the 2014 Environmental Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, for which he was recognized as the Best Oral Advocate. He also received the Washington University School of Law Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy, proving his strong advocacy skills.
Earning his Juris Doctor in 2014, Mr. Howard gained admission to practice in Missouri, Illinois and Washington. Representing clients all around the U.S., he has appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. His wide experience in federal claims and appellate practice gives him the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes with confidence and precision.
One of Mr. Howard’s most notable cases is Jarvis v. Hines Furlong Line, where he successfully defended the company, proving the vessel’s extensive repairs meant that the plaintiff was not a “seaman” and the Jones Act didn’t apply to his injury. In addition to his litigation practice, he is dedicated to community service and legal education, frequently conducting workshops and seminars. He is an active member of the Maritime Law Association and the vice president of Honoring Our Heroes Marathon.
