James D. O'Leary

Founding partner at O’Leary, Shelton, Corrigan, Peterson, Dalton & Quillin, James D. O’Leary handles cases of personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability and pharmaceuticals. He also represents the people of St. Louis and throughout the country who have been injured in truck and bicycle crashes, negligence, workplace injuries, construction injuries, spinal and brain injuries, electric shock and electrocution, and premises liability.

For seven years, Mr. O’Leary worked for an insurance company, where he defended the company against claims and lawsuits made by injured individuals. With this experience and over 20 years in the legal field, he is fully prepared to take any case to trial to secure compensation for his clients when they have been injured by another.

In 1992, Mr. O’Leary graduated from The University of Tulsa, then earned a Juris Doctor in 1995 from Saint Louis University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of Missouri and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. For his commitment to legal ethics and professional accomplishments, he earned the highest peer rating possible of AV Preeminent* from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. O’Leary received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 for America’s Top 100 Attorneys. In just over five years, he has secured more than $40 million for his clients. He is a member of the board of governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and was chosen by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for Peer Recognition and Achievement in 2016 and 2017.
