J.C. Mr. Pleban completed his undergraduate studies in 2007, graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University. He then went on to attend the Saint Louis University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2010.
After obtaining his license to practice law in Missouri the same year he graduated from law school, Mr. Pleban became licensed to practice law in Illinois and became admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Within his legal community, Mr. Pleban holds close affiliations with many prominent legal organizations such as The Missouri Bar, the St. Louis Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and The Theodore McMillian American Inn of Court.

- Car Crash Death - $75 Million Verdict - St. Charles County jury delivers $75 million verdict to the family of a man killed by a DWI suspect evading police.
- Wrongful Death - J.C. Pleban Settles Case for $2,500,000, 100x Policy Limits - J.C. Pleban recently settled a wrongful death case for $2,500,000.00. Following a tragic death, clients attempted to settle with the insurance carrier, who had only $25,000.00 in coverage. The carrier agreed to settle, but demanded clients pay medical liens incurred by the decedent. The clients retained J.C. Pleban who argued the medical liens do not apply. He also argued the insurance carrier acted in bad faith. Ultimately, the insurance carrier settled for $2,500,000.00, which was 100 times greater than its policy limits for the insured.
- Settlement - $2,000,000 - J.C. Pleban obtains $2,000,000.00 settlement for a client who was forced to leave his job after reporting safety problems.
- April 3, 2018 - $2 million settlement for racial discrimination against St. Louis police - The June settlement of a case in which a white police officer alleged the department promoted a less qualified black candidate over him has pushed the amount of money the St. Louis Police Department has paid out for such allegations in recent years to close to $2 million.
- Verdict - Jury Awarded J.C. Pleban’s Client 10x Settlement Offer - J.C. Pleban obtained a jury verdict for his client who was injured in a products liability case. The verdict was ten times what the large company offered to settle the case. It was recently upheld on appeal.
- June 19, 2019 - J.C. Pleban's Client Awarded $1.1 Million in Racial Discrimination Lawsuit - The city has settled a racial discrimination lawsuit involving a black St. Louis police captain for $1.1 million.
