Joseph Ott is the founding attorney of Ott Law Firm in Maplewood, Missouri. He focuses his practice on personal injury law, handling matters involving car accidents, birth injuries, brain injuries, construction accidents, premises liability, trucking accidents and other catastrophes caused by negligence. In addition, he also takes on cases that involve labor and employment law, intellectual property, business law, entertainment law, trademark and copyright, and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters.
Mr. Ott serves clients throughout the Greater St. Louis area and the surrounding counties, accepting clients throughout the state of Missouri. He earned his bachelor’s degrees in economics and philosophy from Regis University. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. Upon graduation, he attempted and passed the Missouri bar examination and received his license to practice law statewide. He is eligible to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri.
While attending law school, Mr. Ott gained legal experience by clerking for a free speech researcher and advocating for nonprofit initiatives in central Missouri. His prior legal experience also includes practicing as an associate attorney for two Missouri-based attorneys. That role enabled him to gain experience in the areas of personal injury and workers’ compensation law.
Also having practiced for a major plaintiff’s law firm, Mr. Ott broadened his legal knowledge in the areas of bad faith insurance negotiations and ERISA law. He founded Ott Law Firm to use his background of education and experience to provide efficient, creative and ideal solutions to Missouri residents who have been injured or lost loved ones due to negligence. He provides personalized service and aggressive representation to ensure that his clients receive just compensation.
Mr. Ott's passion for machine learning and intelligence solutions for legal applications led him to start Samu Consulting, for which he currently serves as the chief solutions architect. He aims to help law firms and lawyers by implementing legal, business, and tech methods and outsourcing legal tasks to machines to benefit the clients. He has memberships with the American Association for Justice, the National Lawyers Guild, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.
