Michael S Figenshau joined the team at Gray Ritter Graham in 2021, where he has focused his practice on wrongful death, catastrophic injury and commercial litigation. His dedication to these areas stems from a deep-seated commitment to justice and a meticulous approach to legal strategy.
Mr. Figenshau graduated with an Order of the Coif from the University of Missouri School of Law, an honor indicative of his academic excellence and legal acumen. During his time in law school, he was an active member of the editorial board for the Missouri Law Review. He also engaged in significant research activities under the guidance of Professor Erika Lietzan, contributing to important legal discourse. His academic achievements during this period were recognized with the Judge Lawrence G. Crahan Memorial Judicial Fellowship in the summer of 2019.
Prior to pursuing law, Mr. Figenshau was acknowledged as a National Merit Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. He serves as a member-at-large for the Young Lawyers Division of The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis for the 2022-2023 term. He is also a member of the Missouri Asian American Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, The Missouri Bar, The Lawyers Association of St. Louis and the St. Louis County Bar Association. In 2022, he joined the Young Lawyers Committee at the National Center for State Courts, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the improvement of the judicial system.
Mr. Figenshau's legal career is further distinguished by his experience with the judiciary. He has served as a judicial intern for both the Honorable Mary R. Russell at the Supreme Court of Missouri and the Honorable Philip M. Hess at the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District. Admitted to practice in Missouri, including the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, he continues to uphold the highest standards of the legal profession, advocating tirelessly for his clients and contributing thoughtfully to the legal community.
