The Missouri Bar admitted her to practice that same year, and she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.

Highly active in her legal community, Ms. Hoernschemeyer is a member of the National School Boards Association, the Missouri School Boards' Association, the National Council of School Attorneys and the Missouri Council of School Attorneys. A recognized leader in her field, she has published many articles and conducted lectures across her region on a variety of topics related to employment and education law. She currently serves on the adjunct legal faculty at Maryville University and facilitates advanced school law courses at Maryville University School of Education.
