As the managing member of Pecos Law Group, located in Henderson, Nevada, attorney Bruce I. Shapiro focuses on family law, appellate law and personal injury litigation. Beginning his legal career in family law in 1990, he has held several esteemed positions, including domestic violence commissioner pro tempore, the Uniform Reciprocal Enforcement of Support Act (URESA)/paternity hearing master and alternate municipal court judge. Additionally, he has served as a judicial referee for the Las Vegas Justice Court in small claims matters.

Mr. Shapiro completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1984 and 1986, respectively. He subsequently achieved his J.D. magna cum laude from Whittier College School of Law in 1990. He is admitted to practice in all state courts across Nevada and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

During his legal studies, Mr. Shapiro distinguished himself as solicitations editor for the school’s Law Review and acted as a teaching assistant for a course on contracts. He has been recognized with several accolades, including the American Bar Association Award for Local Government, the American Jurisprudence Awards for Contracts and Constitutional Law I, the Dean’s Merit Scholarship, and the David Holtz Memorial Scholarship. He consistently earned placement on the dean’s list and the honor roll.

A fellow of the American Bar Foundation, Mr. Shapiro is an active member of the Supreme Court of Nevada Bench-Bar Committee, the American Bar Association – Family Law Section and the Council of Appellate Lawyers, the Clark County Bar Association, and the State Bar of Nevada – Family Law Section. An accomplished author, he has published numerous articles on family law. He is fluent in Spanish and has been highly rated by his clients, achieving a perfect score of 10 on Avvo.
