Focusing on a wide range of personal injury cases, he proficiently handles matters including car accidents, DUI-related collisions, trucking accidents, motorcycle crashes, casino errors, wrongful deaths, dog attacks and slip-and-fall incidents.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Cloward’s professional achievements include securing a $38 million jury verdict in a negligent security wrongful death case – the largest in Nevada’s history and the second largest in the United States for 2020. He also won a $15 million jury verdict in 2016 for a family whose disabled son tragically died on a paratransit bus, a verdict that, after extensive appellate litigation, increased to nearly $21 million.

Mr. Cloward pursued his undergraduate studies at The University of Utah, securing a B.S. in finance in 2005. He commenced his legal education at The University of Tulsa College of Law before transferring to The University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he obtained his J.D. in 2008. He further honed his legal skills by graduating from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College. He has been licensed to practice law in Nevada since 2008 and in Utah since 2009.

While at law school, Mr. Cloward was distinguished with the Outstanding Achievement Award for Teaching Law in High School and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Property and was consistently named to the dean’s list. He also held the position of president of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and acted as a judicial intern for then-State Court Presiding Judge Gregory K. Frizzell.

Furthermore, Mr. Cloward contributed as a note and comment editor for the Journal of Land, Resources, & Environmental Law. His comment, “Why has State v. Hutchinson Been Ignored? An Analysis of Why Utah Cities Lack Authority to Exact Water,” was chosen for publication in the journal’s 28th volume.

In recognition of his exemplary skills and contributions to the field of law, Mr. Cloward was named “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Nevada Justice Association in 2016, becoming the youngest lawyer to receive this honor in Nevada’s history. That same year, he was inducted into the Las Vegas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Mr. Cloward has also earned numerous accolades, including an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a perfect 10.0 score on AVVO.
