Doreen M. Spears Hartwell

Doreen Spears Hartwell is a co-founder of Hartwell Thalacker, Ltd. She has over 25 years legal experience representing clients in commercial litigation, including employment law, trade secrets, noncompete claims, real estate, trust and probate, and other business disputes. Hartwell Thalacker represents employers in a variety of cases encompassing wrongful termination, discrimination/harassment under state and federal employment statutes, and other business disputes. 

Ms. Hartwell has been selected to the list of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers, Best Lawyers, and Top Lawyers by the Vegas Inc. magazine. She has been named the Attorney of the Year by the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association and the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. She was a lawyer representative for the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada and served as the the chair of the Lawyer Representatives Coordinating Committee for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit for three years. In 2014, Ms. Hartwell was appointed to the Nevada Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and currently serves as the chair of the nominations committee. Ms. Hartwell has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

A Connecticut native, Ms. Hartwell completed her undergraduate degree in English with a minor in Spanish from Fairfield University. She obtained her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of the Pacific-McGeorge School of Law in 2000.
