Kathleen Jane England

Senior Counsel at Gilbert Employment Law, P.C., Kathleen Jane England represents clients in civil rights cases in Nevada. Her focus is on protecting the rights of those who have been victims of sexual violence or discrimination, and during her career she has helped clients to substantial victories against entities such as the Clark County Department of Aviation, SAKS and the Nevada Department of Corrections. A former law clerk for the Las Vegas City Attorney’s Office, she also served as a Deputy City Attorney immediately after graduating from law school.

At Michigan State University, Ms. England graduated cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree before attending the Suffolk University Law School. There she graduated with her Juris Doctor and has spent almost four decades protecting the rights and liberties of those in Nevada, including Nevada legislators. During her career, she has also been an advocate of voter protection efforts, acting as legal adviser for several federal and state campaigns.

Ms. England is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Nevada. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Nevada and the United States Supreme Court.

In 2001, she was named one of southern Nevada’s most Influential Women by In Business magazine, and she has received awards from Planned Parenthood, the Nevada Justice Association, the Southern Nevada Women’s Political Caucus, the VV Chamber of Commerce, the AFL-CIO and Soroptimist International. Ms. England is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, where she helped to establish the Young Lawyers Section and she has served on boards for the Clark County Bar Association and the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys.
