Osvaldo E. Fumo, a senior partner at Pitaro & Fumo, Chtd., in Las Vegas, Nevada, has dedicated his legal career to navigating the realms of criminal defense, personal injury and ethics complaints. Since 1996, he has been a steadfast presence in the Las Vegas legal scene, taking on cases that range from minor traffic violations to serious capital murder charges.
Mr. Fumo’s practice spans both state and federal courts, and he has passionately mentored aspiring attorneys in the Southern District of Nevada for over 15 years. His advocacy has even reached the esteemed halls of the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. In addition to his legal practice, he serves as a judge (referee) for traffic matters in the Justice Court of Las Vegas.
Having moved to Las Vegas in 1975, Mr. Fumo pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of San Diego, graduating in 1987 and completing his law degree at Whittier College School of Law in December 1995. As an adjunct professor at Boyd School of Law, he imparts his knowledge in trial advocacy, pretrial criminal litigation and crafting compelling opening statements and closing arguments. His dedication to teaching earned him the title of adjunct professor of the year in 2021. Beyond the classroom, he served two terms in the Nevada State Assembly from 2016 to 2020.
Mr. Fumo is a well-respected figure in the legal community, actively participating in organizations such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Italian American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the American Bar Association.
