William E. Christie

As a shareholder/director at Shaheen & Gordon, PA, William E. Christie defends clients throughout the greater Concord, New Hampshire, area in criminal and civil cases, and he also represents clients in complex civil litigation. Most of his criminal cases involve defending clients charged with federal crimes, including fraud, tax evasion, drug offenses and obstruction of justice. He also has significant experience defending clients in the state courts who have been charged with crimes ranging from embezzlement to negligent homicide. Mr. Christie has obtained favorable outcomes for numerous clients in suits against the federal government, including a judgment of $3.1 million for the family of an informant killed after a federal agency leaked the informant's identity.

Mr. Christie earned his bachelor's degree from Boston College in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 1994. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The courts that he is admitted to practice before include the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire, the United States Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

In recognition of his legal prowess, Mr. Christie was elected to serve as the district representative for the Criminal Justice Act, acting as the liaison between the Offices of the United States Attorneys, the defense bar and the district court. He also serves as a member of the Federal Court Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
