James J. Leonard, Jr.

James J. Leonard Jr. is the founder of Leonard Law Group, LLC, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he concentrates his practice on criminal defense and related litigation. He represents clients in federal, state and municipal courts, handling a broad range of matters that include serious criminal charges, domestic violence restraining order cases and issues involving entertainment law. 

With more than two decades of courtroom experience, Mr. Leonard is known for his assertive advocacy and thorough preparation in complex and high-stakes cases. Mr. Leonard earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law after completing his undergraduate studies at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. During the early stages of his legal training, he gained practical courtroom exposure through a two-year internship with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. This experience provided him with valuable insight into criminal prosecution and trial procedures, which later informed his approach to defense work.

Mr. Leonard is admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
