Andrew Olesnycky is the Chair of SeidenFreed's Criminal and Domestic Violence Practice Group. Mr. Olesnycky works primarily out of the Cranford office. He focuses his practice on:

Former assistant prosecutor at the Union County Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Olesnycky is a highly accomplished criminal defense attorney. He represents individuals and organizations accused of criminal charges in state, federal and municipal courts. With a wealth of experience, he has successfully defended clients in cases involving fraud conspiracies, drug crimes, money laundering, arson, child pornography, cyber-crime and more.
Mr. Olesnycky is also experienced in federal criminal defense, having been chosen to serve on the Criminal Justice Act Panel of Private Attorneys by the District of New Jersey. He has effectively represented accused professionals and leaders of criminal enterprises in federal prosecutions, including public benefits fraud, wire fraud, bank fraud, drug distribution and computer crimes. His abilities have earned him the honor of being a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court, a distinction achieved by less than 1% of attorneys statewide.
While working at the Union County Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Olesnycky tried several felony cases, covering a range of offenses such as aggravated assault, robbery, weapon possession and narcotics offenses. His notable trials and prosecutions have garnered attention from esteemed media outlets, including The New York Times, The Associated Press, CBS Mornings, the Boston Globe, the Star-Ledger and ESPN. Through his dedicated and aggressive approach, he has achieved favorable outcomes for his clients.
In addition to his criminal defense practice, Mr. Olesnycky stands out as one of the few private attorneys who have served as a domestic violence supervisor in a county prosecutor's office. He provides comprehensive representation to clients accused of domestic violence in criminal, civil and administrative proceedings, as well as assisting victims requesting for restraining orders in family court.
Mr. Olesnycky's commitment to his profession extends beyond his casework. He serves as a certified domestic violence law instructor at the John H. Stamler Police Academy, educating law enforcement personnel on criminal law matters. He also actively participates in trainings related to domestic violence law in conferences throughout the U.S. His achievements in the legal arena have earned him recognition, including an "Excellent" rating on Avvo and a listing in The Best Lawyers in America for Criminal Defense in 2023.
Graduating cum laude from the Rutgers Law School in Newark, Mr. Olesnycky gained valuable experience as a law clerk in the Appellate Division of New Jersey Superior Court. As a law student, he further honed his skills by serving as an intern in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
