Matheu D. Nunn is a Partner with the Morris County-based law firm, Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost & Botwinick, PC. Mr. Nunn Chairs the Firm's Family/Divorce Practice and its General Appellate Practice. As a family law attorney, he works with cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, grandparent rights, prenuptial agreements, and other family law issues. He serves clients throughout the state, including but not limited to Morris, Essex, Sussex, Somerset, Bergen, and Monmouth counties. He is also hired by other attorneys as co-counsel in matters as far south as Camden county.
As a practicing attorney, Mr. Nunn has litigated many complex legal matters at the trial court, Appellate Division, and Supreme Court, establishing himself in the process as a prominent member of the New Jersey legal community. He has a wide array of experience representing individuals from all fields, including but not limited to: athletes, business owners, entertainers, executives, financial services, lawyers, physicians, police officers, and teachers—as well as the spouses of individuals in those fields. His work has resulted in several, precedent-setting decisions including Cardali v. Cardali, Bisbing v. Bisbing, Quinn v. Quinn, Woytas v. Greenwood Tree, and Clark v. Clark - and more than 70 other decisions. Over the years, he has lectured on family law and other legal topics for various legal organizations and at continuing legal education events. Mr. Nunn has also been published in several journals.
The New Jersey Law Journal has twice nominated Mr. Nunn for its "Attorney of the Year" Award. The business journal, NJBIZ, included Mr. Nunn on its Top 40 Under 40 list. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America magazine. The National Law Journal has also recognized Mr. Nunn for his accomplishments. Active in his legal community, he is a member and former trustee of the Morris County Bar Association and is an appointed member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Amicus Committee, which advocates at the Supreme Court on behalf of New Jersey attorneys.
Mr. Nunn received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 2003. He went on to graduate with honors from Rutgers Law School (Camden) in 2007, where he served as an editor of the Rutgers University Law Review. Earlier in his legal career, he served as a county prosecutor, municipal prosecutor, and clerked for both the Honorable Jack M. Sabatino, P.J.A.D. (2008) and the Hon. B. Theodore Bozonelis, A.J.S.C (2007).

- Amicus Counsel in Facebook v. State, ___ N.J. ___ (2023), a precedent-setting decision in which Nunn and his colleagues from the New Jersey State Bar Association, successfully argued in support of Facebook’s position that law enforcement personnel need something more than a communications data warrant to obtain private Facebook messages between Facebook users on a near real-time basis. Specifically, they argued that due to the type of communications sought, law enforcement should have been required to obtain an order with protections akin to a wiretap. Facebook’s position (and that of NJSBA) was also joined by Microsoft and Google, as well as several other Amici Curiae. , 2023

In this case, the Wife of Nunn's client embezzled from the Husband's pharmacy business. The business ultimately failed and, notwithstanding the Wife's conduct, the trial court awarded alimony. - On April 23, 2001, the Supreme Court of New Jersey decided Baures v. Lewis, 167 N.J. 91 (2001). For more than 16 years, Baures guided post-divorce interstate relocation of children in a manner that generally favored the primary-custodial parent who sought relocation.
