Biography:
ABBOTT S. BROWN is a Partner with Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Munoz in Freehold, New Jersey, where he concentrates on civil litigation with an emphasis in medical and legal malpractice, products liability, and insurance litigation.
Mr. Brown attended Rutgers College in New Brunswick and received his J.D. in 1978 from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeal. Mr. Brown was certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney in 1994, 2001, 2006 and 2013. In addition to New Jersey Medical Malpractice Law, 6th Ed. (NJLJ 2016) and New Jersey Medical Malpractice Cases, 3rd Ed. (NJICLE 2009), Mr. Brown is also the author of a chapter titled "Medical Experts," found in New Jersey Trial and Evidence Law (NJICLE 2003). Mr. Brown has had multiple editorials published in the New Jersey Star Ledger and The New York Times. Mr. Brown has also authored over 40 articles for numerous professional publications, and has delivered more than 70 lectures for NJICLE, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the New Jersey Association for Justice and other organizations.
Mr. Brown served on the Supreme Court Committee on Model Civil Jury Charges, the Supreme Court Committee on Jury Selection and Voir Dire, and the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - New Jersey. He was awarded the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - New Jersey in April of 2001.
Mr. Brown was an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University School of Law in the Health Law and Policy Program, where he has taught medical malpractice law from 1998 to 2010. He also lectured at the New Jersey Judicial College and served on the Board of Trustees of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey and the District V-B Ethics Committee, and as Chair of the Medical Malpractice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Brown has also served as a delegate to the New Jersey State Bar Association - Third Annual Judicial Administration Forum, and on the Special Committee on Implementation of a Pilot Medical Malpractice Mediation project.
Mr. Brown was counsel for the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - New Jersey, and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey as Amicus Curiae in Cornblatt v.
