Bettina E. Munson

Bettina E. Munson is a partner at Lomurro Munson LLC, located in Freehold, New Jersey. Representing clients throughout the state, she focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters, including divorce, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence, adoptions, child custody and visitation, grandparents' rights and order modifications.

Ms. Munson pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina and received her Bachelor of Arts in 1983. She later went on to attend Rutgers School of Law - Newark and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1992. Ms. Munson is admitted to practice before all New Jersey state courts.

Ms. Munson has been certified as a matrimonial law attorney by the Board on Attorney Certification of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Since 2008, she has been a member of the State Domestic Violence Working Group of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Ms. Munson has amassed an impressive record in trying family law cases, and she litigated and won the first case in the United States in which a non-biological mother in a same-sex domestic partnership was granted shared custody of a child.

Dedicated to both her community and her profession, Ms. Munson has been actively involved in politics as well as in several legal organizations. In 2004, she was elected as a councilwoman in the borough of West Long Branch. She served on the borough's Shade Tree and Environmental commissions from 2001 to 2004, as well as on its planning board. An active participant in the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as the Family Law Committee of the Monmouth Bar Association, Ms. Munson has also served on the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice.
