Jason T. Shafron

The founder of Shafron Law Group, LLC, Jason T. Shafron focuses his practice primarily on business and real estate transactions and litigation. From the firm's office in Hackensack, New Jersey, he provides astute representation to clients throughout Bergen County as well as part of the greater New York City metropolitan area. Mr. Shafron is admitted to practice before all New Jersey and New York state courts, New Jersey Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Part of Mr. Shafron's practice involves furnishing advice and counsel to entrepreneurs who are launching a new venture. At the outset, he helps to determine the most appropriate form of legal entity, and then after the business is formed, he prepares appropriate shareholder, operating and partnership agreements, and reviews business contracts and other documents related to the company's operations. He also assists in mergers and acquisitions, and he provides representation in court or at the negotiating table in the event of a contract or another business dispute.

Mr. Shafron's real estate experience has encompassed leasing, development, financing and acquisitions. He also handles related litigation, including construction defects, commercial lease disputes, fraud, insurance coverage, broker malpractice and contract breaches. Other commercial litigation matters that Mr. Shafron has worked on have included design defects, environmental claims, variances and retaliatory discharge.

Mr. Shafron attended Bucknell University and obtained both a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He then enrolled at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in Philadelphia, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1991. Mr. Shafron clerked for a judge on the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey before entering private practice. He is a member of several legal and civic organizations.
