Joyce A. Parisi has represented injured workers and their families throughout Bergen County, New Jersey, for 35 years as a partner in the workers' compensation firm Parisi & Gerlanc, P.A., in Hackensack. Ms. Parisi joined her father at the firm in 1980 and has since established a reputation as a leader in her field and a steadfast advocate of workers' rights and labor unions in the state. In addition to assisting clients with workers' compensation claims for work injuries, occupational diseases, repetitive stress injuries and other conditions, she handles matters pertaining to labor relations.

Ms. Parisi is a founding member and current President of the Justice James H. Coleman, Jr. New Jersey Workers' Compensation American Inn of Court. Through her efforts and those of others, New Jersey is one of four states that trains its lawyers specifically in workers' compensation law.

As a general counsel for the AFL-CIO since 1978, Ms. Parisi has fought tirelessly for workers' rights. On account of her dedicated service, she holds an AV-Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and she has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America** directory. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in 1974 and her Juris Doctor from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1977. Ms. Parisi also earned an LL.M. in labor law from the New York University School of Law in 1981. In December, 2019, she was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Ms. Parisi is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey and before the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. She also frequently lectures for the American Association for Justice Workers' Compensation seminars and is Co-Chair of the Bergen County Bar Association Workers' Compensation Section. She also is a member of the N.J State Bar Association.
