Rachel S. Cotrino

Rachel S. Cotrino is an attorney who focuses her practice on matrimonial law and related matters, including divorce, asset and debt division, termination of alimony, child custody and support, spousal support, paternity issues, prenuptial agreements, divorce agreement modification, relocation and visitation. Ms. Cotrino understands the delicate and emotional nature of such cases and strives to help her clients through the difficult process with empathy and vigorous representation.

Ms. Cotrino serves clients in Mercer, Middlesex, Burlington, Monmouth and Ocean Counties. In addition to the time she devotes to her busy practice, she volunteers for the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics.

Before opening her own practice, Ms. Cotrino was an associate attorney with Gertner Mandel & Peslak, LLC. Prior to that, she clerked for Superior Court Judge James M. Blaney of Ocean County. In that role, she prepared tentative decisions and orders for family law cases and also mediated disputes in the court's Special Civil Part. During this time, she developed her abiding interest in helping families through marriage dissolution, and she draws from the skills she acquired there to aggressively represent her clients in all aspects of matrimonial law.

After graduating from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a B.A. in political science in 2004, Ms. Cotrino earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2007. Admitted to practice before state courts in New York and New Jersey, she belongs to the Mercer County Bar Association's Family Law Committee and is serving as Chair of the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics District VII Fee Arbitration Committee.
