Kaefer Garcia

Fluent in Spanish as well as in English, Kaefer Garcia is the founder of Garcia Law. His varied practice encompasses family law, criminal defense and immigration matters. Located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Mr. Garcia provides representation to clients throughout Bergen and Hudson counties. Admitted to practice before all New Jersey state courts since 2014, Mr. Garcia is also admitted to practice in New York.

Mr. Garcia’s family law clients are, for the most part, people whose marriages are coming to an end and who are thus having to deal with such divorce-related legal issues as child custody and visitation, the division of marital assets and financial obligations, and spousal and child support. He often takes a large part in negotiating a settlement agreement that covers these matters, but when talks between the parties and their respective attorneys have come to a standstill, he advocates on their behalf in the courtroom. Mr. Garcia has also assisted people who have been the victims of domestic violence and who are now petitioning a judge for the issuance of appropriate orders of protection.

In his criminal defense practice, Mr. Garcia provides advice and counsel to people who have been accused by the state of having committed misdemeanors or felonies. His cases have included speeding and reckless driving, domestic violence, drug possession and distribution, harassment, cyberbullying and assault. Mr. Garcia’s immigration caseload has involved asylum proceedings, deportation and removal defense, and the representation of athletes, investors, artists, and other people who want to work legally in the United States. He is a graduate of the Newark branch of Rutgers Law School.
