John P. Robertson II

At the Law Office of John P. Robertson LLC, founding partner John P. Robertson II serves the legal needs of Northern New Jersey, covering areas like Morris, Sussex, Somerset, Warren and Union Counties. Since entering private practice 1989, he has dedicated his efforts to defending individuals and organizations facing accusations of criminal and quasi-criminal activities, ranging from serious crimes (and less serious offenses such as disorderly conduct) to domestic violence, traffic violations, including serious accidents, DWI/DUI cases, juvenile delinquency, administrative law issues with the New Jersey MVC and clearing criminal records through expungement.

Beyond his defense work, Mr. Robertson passionately advocates for those who have endured personal injuries and other damages due to the negligence of others. His career in the legal field commenced in 1986 when he assumed the role of assistant prosecutor at the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Over the years, he has shared his insights as a moderator and speaker at legal seminars on topics like DWI, the new Alcotest breath testing device and juvenile delinquency. Additionally, he has authored pieces on the expungement process and the broader impacts of traffic violations.

A respected figure in the legal community, Mr. Robertson is a Past President of the Morris County Bar Association and the Morris County Bar Foundation.  His past roles include chair of the MCBA Municipal Court Practice Committee and a member of the District X Ethics Committee (Morris/Sussex) and the District X Fee Abitration Committee.  He currently serves as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court's Municipal Court Practice Committee.  

He has recently been recognized by the New Jersey Judiciary and the Morris County Bar Association for serving as pro bono counsel for individuals who are victims of domestic violence.  

He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English literature from Bucknell University in 1983. He earned his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University in 1986.
