John W. Tumelty

John W. Tumelty is a dedicated criminal defense lawyer focusing his practice on white collar crimes, casino crimes, DUI, disorderly conduct charges, gun charges, shoplifting and others. As a former state prosecutor, Mr. Tumelty investigated and prosecuted white collar felonies and other major crimes, including murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, sexual assault and armed robbery. Mr. Tumelty holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rider University. He later enrolled at Widener University Delaware Law School, where he gained his Juris Doctor in 1983. He was then admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a New Jersey Supreme Court-certified criminal trial attorney, receiving his certification in 1995. He has since successfully defended clients who have been charged with all kinds of crimes and won numerous not guilty verdicts for them.

A known face in the legal fraternity, Mr. Tumelty is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys, the New Jersey State Bar Association and its District Ethics and Fee Committee.
