Stephan T. Mashel

The founder of Mashel Law LLC, Stephan T. Mashel focuses his practice primarily on labor and employment law matters, although his experience includes personal injury and wrongful death litigation as well. Based in Morganville, New Jersey, his clients come from the central part of the state, including Middlesex, Somerset and Ocean counties. Mr. Mashel is admitted to practice before all New Jersey state courts.

In his employment law practice, Mr. Mashel confines his representation exclusively to current, prospective and former employees. Many of his cases have involved acts of workplace and hiring discrimination that are prohibited by various federal and state laws. Some of these statutes include Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Other employment law claims that Mr. Mashel has handled have arisen under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act, and his clients also have included whistleblowers who have been wrongfully terminated or otherwise retaliated against. He also represents people who have been the victim of hostile work environments or other forms of workplace sexual harassment.

In both his employment and personal injury practices, Mr. Mashel has been able to obtain several seven-figure settlements and jury awards, and this has resulted in him being a life member of the invitation-only Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Another indication of the high regard in which he is held by his colleagues is him being named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. Mr. Mashel obtained his legal education at the Camden campus of Rutgers Law School, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1986.
