Jessica DeYoung

Jessica DeYoung is an associate at the firm Lyons & Associates, P.C., in Morristown, New Jersey. She is an experienced attorney who has built her practice around family law cases involving dissolution of marriage, child custody, parenting time, and post-judgment and pendente lite applications. She is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey.

With a bachelor's degree in justice studies and a minor in sociology from Montclair State University in 2015, Ms. DeYoung graduated with high honors (magna cum laude). She achieved the academic distinction of cum laude upon completing Roger Williams University School of Law in 2020.

Ms. DeYoung represented low-income families applying for asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile status while she was a law student at the Roger Williams Immigration Clinic. During her time as an intern for the Honorable Yolanda Adrianzen, J.S.C., in the New Jersey Superior Court, she was primarily concerned with issues arising after judgments were rendered.

Moreover, Ms. DeYoung worked as a research and teaching assistant for Professor Colleen Brown during her third and second years of law school, where she helped students with legal research and writing.

As a judicial clerk, Ms. DeYoung had the pleasure of working under the supervision of Judge Rudolph A. Filko of the New Jersey Superior Court, after she finished law school. She assisted Judge Filko with his juvenile schedule and was also in charge of his post-judgment calendar throughout her clerkship. Additionally, she oversaw consent conferences that did not involve dissolution.
