Shari Lee Genser

Shari Lee Genser is an attorney at Ross & Calandrillo, LLC, in Mountainside, New Jersey. With over a decade of experience in family law, she handles matters including child custody, child support, divorce and separation, equitable distribution and alimony. Serving the Newark metropolitan area, she provides a balance of compassionate support and strategic advocacy. She remains a steadfast protector of her clients' rights in cases involving domestic violence and other highly complex legal disputes.

Ms. Genser graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor’s degree in jurisprudence in 2008. To further sharpen her knowledge of the judiciary, she joined Seton Hall Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2011. While at Seton Hall Law School, she was awarded the Outstanding Law Student Award by the National Association of Women Lawyers. After graduation, she worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Nancy Sivilli, Justice of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage.

In 2012, Ms. Genser joined Essex-Newark Legal Services (ENLS) as a fellow. During her fellowship, she was awarded funding to develop a teen dating violence prevention project and performed vast community outreach in the area. She also provided counsel to victims of domestic violence throughout all areas of family law. By the end of her fellowship, she served as a staff attorney in the Family Law Unit of ENLS. She gained her license to practice in New York in 2014 and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2015.

Ms. Genser's commitment to the community and her work against domestic violence is showcased by her professional affiliations. She has presented numerous seminars and presentations on domestic violence in high schools, colleges, law schools and community organizations. As an active member of the Essex County Bar Association, the Union County Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association, she strives to provide accessible representation to her clients. Currently, she serves on the Young Lawyers Subcommittee of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section.
